New owner for Xanit private hospital, Benalmadena
El País reports that the Córdoba builder and jeweller, Rafael Gómez, known as Sandokán has sold assets for as much as 517 million € over the past year in order to meet debts.
Gómez is on 300,000 € bail in the Malaya corruption case and the paper claims has debts of 1 billion €. Banks and Savings Banks have closed the loans for the builder following instructions from the Bank of Spain to lend less in the construction sector.
To meet his debts El País says he has sold the Xanit Private Hospital in Benalmádena, which has been purchased by the N+1 Private Equity company for 67.2 million €.
He has also sold seven million square metres of land which includes the Tivoli attractions park, parking and shops in Benalmádena.
