Spain Among Top Ten Overseas GoalsNew research from NatWest reveals that Spain is one of Britain’s favourite places to own homes overseas.According to the NatWest International Personal Banking (NatWest IPB) Quality of Life Report, the majority of Brits who move abroad do so due to a desire for a better way of life. The research surveyed British expatriates from across the world and revealed that over ninety per cent of the participants feel they have a better quality of life abroad, and 63 per cent have no plans to ever move back to the UK.
The positive factors far outweigh the negatives and even though the fifty-five per cent of expats surveyed admitted to having been unhappy with many aspects of their life in the UK, this dissatisfaction wasn’t the dominant reason for their decision to move away from the UK, and 45 per cent of respondents said their decision to emigrate had nothing to do with their lives in the UK, suggesting that the majority of people are being enticed abroad rather than being pushed into leaving the UK because of a poor quality of life. The report showed that Spain remains one of the top ten overseas destinations among British expats, which is backed up by a poll from Holiday Lettings revealing that Spain was the top holiday home investment hotspot of 2007.
